As previously shared, Mother Lynn has accepted a call to serve as Priest-in-Charge of St. Margaret’s in Baton Rouge. Her last Sunday at St. James will be August 9.
The vestry invites you to contribute to a clergy purse being collected in her honor. (No, we do not mean a handbag.) A clergy purse is a long-standing tradition of a monetary gift given to a departing priest as an expression of gratitude and appreciation for their ministry among us. Participation is entirely voluntary. Mother Lynn will not be informed of who did or didd not contribute nor how much any one household gave. The purse will be presented as a collective gift from the congregation. Please note that contributions to a clergy purse are not tax-deductible.
