Thursdays, Starting October 8 | 5-6:30 p.m. | Ministries Center

Have you ever wondered what ancient monastic wisdom might teach us about living more intentionally in our own busy lives? This fall, we invite you to join us for a seven-session exploration of the fifty practices of monastic Life, as presented in Sister Joan Chittister’s book The Monastic Heart.

We’ll gather in person at the St. James Ministries Building from 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, beginning October 8 and running through December. Using Theological Reflection to discern God’s presence in our daily lives and Lectio Divina to explore scripture, we’ll discuss the many facets of a monastic heart, such as beauty and solitude, and what they might offer us today.

While this class is especially suited for EfM graduates and those drawn to contemplative faith, we warmly welcome any parishioners who are discerning or curious. All are invited to reflect and grow in faith together.

Please indicate your interest in the group by September 13. Contact John Cadwallader or Mary O’Brien with any questions.
