St. James Episcopal Church invites you to an organ recital in tribute to Dr. Herndon Spillman, a member of our parish and former coordinator of the organ studies program at Louisiana State University in the School of Music on his birthday, Monday, October 21, 2024, at 7 p.m. Featured organists represented will be from his studio including Jacob Benda, Director of Liturgy and Sacred Arts at the Chapel of Saint Thomas Acquinas at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota as well as a former colleague Lynne Davis from Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists and internationally acclaimed composer and concert artist, Pamela Decker, represented by Seven Eight Artists. Please join us for an evening of exciting organ music heard on our new Goulding and Wood pipe organ, Opus number 53.
