St. James seeks to fill a soprano staff singer position for the 2025-2026 liturgical season, beginning August of 2025. Strong sight-singing skills, a professional approach, good choral tone, and the ability to commit to our busy schedule of events are essential.
This position is part of the professional octet that make up the St. James Schola, a group of professional singers who serve as section leaders of the St. James Choir. This Choir sings music ranging from the 4th to the 21st centuries, from plainchant, to the English Cathedral tradition, to spirituals, to jazz. Members of the St. James School rehearse with the full St. James Choir on Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. and sing services on most Sundays, as well as Feast Days and other special events. Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
