Since the founding of St. James Church in 1844, the members of our parish family have always had the vision to start, sustain, and support the ministries of this church we all love. The St. James endowment was established in 1957 to financially support these ministries for the benefit of future generations, and today, St. James Church continues to be supported by these early legacy gifts.

We take this opportunity to thank those early benefactors as well as those who decided to formalize their legacy gifts to St. James during last year’s planned giving campaign. The 1844 Society was established by the Vestry to recognize and celebrate those who have made a bequest or planned gift to St. James, and twenty-nine families are now recognized members.

All members of the St. James Church family are invited to consider making a Legacy Gift that is appropriate for their family and their life situation. All gifts, no matter the size or type, help sustain the future of St. James.

For more information, please see the “Legacy Giving” section on the St. James Church website www.stjamesbr.org/legacygiving. You will find educational materials and helpful forms there. Also, please feel free to contact our Rector Chris Duncan or our Treasurer Chris Harrell with any questions.
