GUMBO, St. James’ annual Lenten tradition, started in 1951 and has grown into a hallmark event that people look forward to every year. There are lots of ingredients that go into a great GUMBO, and the main one is you! This year the event will take place on February 27th. If you’re interested in volunteering, there are lots of volunteer opportunities: setting up for the event, dipping gumbo into containers, preparing to-go orders, cleaning up, Sunday sales, and more.
